Even Bernie Won’t Endorse AOC for Senate

Awkward.

Sen. Bernie Sanders and AOC have been doing their usual tour in which two Marxist idiots from two very different generations go on the campaign trail to promise that America will be better off if they and 100 other guys and girls with Che t-shirts and copies of Das Kapital run things to implement fully automated luxury gulags.

AOC would like to move on to bigger and better things. And the obvious pathway is challenging Sen. Chuck Schumer for Senate. There’s the minor problem that AOC has a 30% approval rating, lower than Pelosi, Kamala, and Schumer, and her disapproval rating would be worse except that a third of Americans don’t care.

But this is New York. AOC would have to get through a primary election in a party where a good deal of the votes come out of precincts staffed by people who think Stalin was too liberal (I’m not joking) and where election integrity is considered a vast right-wing conspiracy. New York’s working class is mostly gone and what’s left hardly bothers voting anymore. So what I’m saying is despite supporting the murder of Jews, hating white people and generally being useless at getting anything actual done, AOC’s got a chance.

And yet Bernie stormed out when asked if he would support her.

Sen. Bernie Sanders stood up from his chair and tried to end an interview with ABC News when he was asked Sunday whether he would like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to join him in the U.S. Senate.

“Right now, we have, as I said, just a whole lot of people in the Congress. OK, Jonathan, thanks,” Sanders, I-Vt., told ABC News’ Jonathan Karl, as he got out of his seat, in response to a question about Ocasio-Cortez potentially running for the Senate.

“You want to do nonsense, do nonsense,” Sanders added. “I don’t want to talk about inside the Beltway stuff.”

This is not even Bernie storming out on somebody from the local Underwood Tribune. He got upset at a major media player for asking him a basic question.

And it’s revealing.

For all the public spectacle, Bernie doesn’t think much of AOC and isn’t ready to back her over Schumer. And if Bernie can’t bring himself to back Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez for senate, who will?
