Nate Jackson: Biden’s Lies and Social Insecurity

He’s baaaaack. Joe Biden wandered to a teleprompter yesterday to ramble and yell incoherently and falsely about the plan of some unnamed tyrant to gut Social Security.

As a “person who worked closely with the Biden campaign” anonymously told Politico, “It takes a special level of chutzpah as the man most responsible for reelecting Donald Trump to decide it’s your voice that is missing in this moment. The country would be better served if he rode off into the sunset.”

Indeed, it would, and eventually, he will. He is 82, after all, and his health is quickly fading. But first, we still have to contend with the former President “Lying Dog-Faced Pony Soldier.”

In his first public speech since leaving office, Biden headed to Chicago to address the national conference of Advocates, Counselors, and Representatives for the Disabled. Of course, he is a disabled person, and he stumbled out of the gate, 30 minutes late. When he finally arrived, he started reading from the teleprompter while loud introductory music was still playing — until a technician abruptly cut it off.

His primary subject was Social Security, which, believe it or not, has been around longer than he has.

Before getting there, a few minutes in, he launched into a bizarre anecdote of dubious authenticity — a descriptor for all of his autobiographical musings — about seeing a bus with black kids when he was a kid himself. “I had never seen hardly any black people in Scranton at the time,” he said. “And I was only going in fourth grade. And I remember seeing the kids going by at the time, colored kids on a bus going by.”

It’s kids of color, you insensitive bigot. You must order your nouns and adjectives more carefully.

Ugh. Anyway.

After a bit of grandpa mumbling, he started yelling about “dignity” and jobs and his dad. He also talked about how amazing his achievements were in saving and strengthening Social Security. “We strengthened the anti-fraud measures to protect people’s identities and to make sure benefits are going to people who actually they belong to,” Biden added. “By the way, those 300-year-old folks getting that Social Security — I want to meet them because I like to figure out how to live that.”

That what? That long? Biden has already figured out how to live as an aged grifter, so it can’t be that.

Then he launched into a tirade against Donald Trump, but without ever naming him. “In fewer than 100 days, this new administration … has done so much damage,” he said. “It’s kind of breathtaking it could happen that soon. They’ve taken a hatchet to the Social Security Administration.”

That’s false, though Biden is alluding to Trump’s efforts to streamline a bloated workforce and root out waste, fraud, and abuse in the system. If that’s taking a hatchet to it, then by all means, grab the chainsaw.

“A Ponzi scheme — what the hell are they talking about?” Biden hollered. He didn’t name Elon Musk either, but the DOGE chief was right when he recently called Social Security “the biggest Ponzi scheme of all time.” Yes, people pay into the system and earn their return, but because politicians spent all the money, current workers are paying benefits for current retirees. There’s no “lock box” or account of anything other than IOUs. That’s pretty much the definition of a Ponzi scheme.

“For many of these beneficiaries, it’s their only income,” Biden fearmongered. “If they were cut or taken away, it would be devastating for millions of people. And the psychological pressure we put people under by having this debate — it’s absolutely devastating.”

Virtually no politician anywhere is talking about cutting anyone’s benefits — except Democrats trying to scare seniors about Republicans. In fact, I can’t count the number of times Trump has promised never to limit or even touch Social Security benefits. For Biden to suggest otherwise — without any evidence whatsoever — is pure demagoguery.

What Trump did do yesterday was sign an executive memorandum instructing that “taxpayer-funded benefits be provided only to eligible persons and not encourage or reward illegal immigration to the United States.” Specifically, “The Secretary of Labor, the Secretary of Health and Human Services, and the Commissioner of Social Security, in consultation with the Secretary of Homeland Security as necessary, shall take all reasonable measures, consistent with applicable law, to ensure ineligible aliens are not receiving funds from Social Security Act programs.”

The memorandum also directs his administration to ensure that deceased people don’t receive payments, which obviously go to a living person incorrectly.

Leftists don’t believe this is actually a problem. Yet their denial and huffing about a “lack of evidence” boils down to the fact that fraud is illegal and, therefore, it doesn’t happen. By that logic, no crime occurs anywhere because it’s illegal to commit crimes.

In any case, Biden needs to shuffle off to the beach again and leave the limelight. As anyone who has a loved one suffering from any form of dementia or whatever Biden has can tell you, to keep exposing him to embarrassment is cruel and unloving. Joe talked a lot about dignity, and Jill might want to take heed.
