Protest Groups Call Enforcing Law On WI Judge ‘Authoritarianism’

A far-left illegal immigration activism and professional protest group is coming to the defense of a Wisconsin judge charged with obstructing the arrest of an illegal alien, claiming holding her accountable to the law is an “abuse of power.”

Voces de la Frontera is a Milwaukee-based organization that “strive[s] to create a world … where immigrants can cross borders with dignity” and illegals can obtain driver’s licenses and in-state tuition rates for college. The left-wing group, which is also focused on “ending collaboration between ICE and local law enforcement, and fighting back against policies that criminalize immigrants and people of color,” is attempting to stir up protests against the FBI arrest of Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Hannah Dugan.

Dugan was arrested for allegedly helping an illegal alien charged with violent crimes flee federal authorities, but because illegal immigration activists don’t care about violent illegals wreaking havoc in American neighborhoods, Voces de la Frontera joined a chorus of other far-left politicians and people who hate the United States and its people.

“The arrest of Milwaukee County Judge Dugan is yet another example of the Trump administration’s abuse of power. It is an attempt to intimidate all judges who are defending the Constitution and the right to due process,” Christine Nuemann-Ortiz, founding executive director of Voces de la Frontera, said in a press release. “It is another example of Trump’s efforts to implement racist policies of mass deportation and infringe on local control of government. Milwaukee County welcomes immigrants and does not want Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in our courthouses.”

According to Neumann-Ortiz, “defending the Constitution and the right to due process” means obstructing the justice system from enforcing well-established laws on deporting illegals. The press release boasted the group’s ability to gather a small group of people to shout, hold signs (including one that said, “Hannah Dugan is my hero”), and wave an upside-down American flag outside a federal courthouse in Milwaukee.

The judicial branch has been running a coup against the Trump administration since President Donald Trump took office and started implementing the policies he ran on and the American people voted for, including mass deportations, the eradication of DEI, and many other popular policy initiatives.

Voces de la Frontera is a member of a coalition called the “Fair Immigration Reform Movement” (FIRM), which has called for legal status of all illegals, opposes all attempts from the Trump administration to secure the border, and claims that even existing border security measures are a problem, according to Influence Watch.

The coalition also believes that illegal immigration is justified because of the “economic distress” caused by American trade policy. Other members of FIRM came out in favor of allowing Dugan (and other judges by extension) to obstruct federal immigration enforcement.

“In an unprecedented move against members of the judicial branch, the Trump Administration is exercising authoritarianism to degrees that should alarm us all. We reject this lawless escalation against an immigration judge who appears to be showing a common sense and humane approach to immigrants, and stands for due process for all and against wanton disregard for our Constitution,” Angelica Salas, executive director for the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights, said.

Murad Awawdeh, president and CEO of the New York Immigration Coalition and co-chair of FIRM, called Dugan’s arrest “an outrageous assault on our democracy” and “demand[ed] an immediate end to these authoritarian tactics,” ignoring Dugan’s alleged lawless behavior.

FIRM has been monetarily supported by George Soros’ Open Society Foundations, as well as far-left Ford and Tides foundations.
