When Larry David Stopped Being Funny

Leftist politics and comedy don’t mix.

The hard and fast rule is that leftists stop being funny when they get political. Political comedy can be funny but it’s funny to the degree that the humor comes first. And once lefties start doing political comedy, it usually becomes shrill mockery and then just political statements recited in a funny voice.

Screaming some variation of “Trump sucks” is objectively rarely going to be funny. But lefties insist that this stuff is funny because they find it cathartic and it expresses their frustrations.

Cue Larry David getting a ton of publicity for writing “My Dinner With Hitler”. He should have learned from Georgia that his cringe comedy becomes extra cringe when he starts trying to advance his political views. But “My Dinner With Hitler”.is Andy Borowitz levels of bad. It’s the line every lefty has been using since 2016.

Larry David’s ‘My Dinner With Hitler’ literally borrows Andy Borowitz’s shtick from 2016

Trump Promises Paul Ryan That He’ll Sound Slightly Less Like Hitler – Borowitz Report- May 12, 2016

…that’s how lame it is.

I’m not Larry David’s biggest fan. Cringe comedy is mostly just cringe. But I’ll give him credit for being funnier than Andy Borowitz.

When does it say that David is now lamer than Andy and doing jokes that weren’t even funny eight years ago?

And what does it say that the establishment is clapping for ‘My Dinner With Hitler’ like trained seals?
